In September 2020, Sudhanva Kusuma Chandrashekhara joined the THREAD network as ESR 14 at University of Ljubljana under the supervision of Dejan Zupan. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Visveswaraya Technological University (India) and a master’s degree in Computational Science and Engineering from the University of Rostock (Germany).

On Tuesday 16 July 2024 at 10:00 CEST, Sudhanva will defend his PhD thesis on Geometrically and materially nonlinear beam dynamics with strain localization. The defence will be organized in a hybrid mode, click here to participate online.

Just a few days ago, Sudhanva's most recent paper on an embedded strong-discontinuity approach for analysing material softening and strain localisation has been published in Computers & Structures, see link. A paper on path following in quasi-static analysis was published in International Journal of Solids and Structures in 2023, see link.

The THREAD teams at ITWM and URFCE were happy to host Sudhanva for secondments in April 2022 and in October 2022. Furthermore, he enjoyed a fruitful cooperation with THREAD's industrial partner Igmat d.d., starting with his three month secondment to Igmat in 2021.
