joined the THREAD project in July 2020 (read her welcome message)
My name is Narges Mohammadi, and I was born in Tehran, Iran. I received my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering at Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic). My main interest lies in modeling real-world mechanical problems in the form of mathematical formulation, striving to find the most effective method to solve them. Owing to such scientific direction and passion, I decided to develop my research area in the dynamic simulation of different novel structural elements in contact with the fluid in my Master’s project. I have also tried to extend my knowledge of mathematics, which is an indispensable part of studying the mechanical behavior of different structures. I have gained some knowledge of various numerical and analytical methods to solve PDEs. Moreover, having worked in a research institute, I could also be acquainted with some optimization methods and Machine Learning techniques. My teaching experience in Mechanical Design course and Strength of Materials Laboratory for undergraduate students increased my passion for working in an academic atmosphere.
I think the THREAD project would set me on the right path to achieve my ultimate goal since I will be engaged in a scientific work that can assist me in linking my research interests to a practical issue as well as developing my transferable skills. I am also highly pleased that I am of the chance to be in contact with different researchers with different fields in both academic and industrial environments.
